NRG is excited to partner with a distinguished, independent advisory firm located in Newcastle, looking for a Qualified Accountant to join as an Accounts Manager.

The role:
This division provides a variety of services and works closely with another key service line, giving staff a broad and diverse range of professional experiences.
The client portfolio is extensive, spanning small sole traders, family trusts, and estates to large international companies and professional organisations. These clients are located across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on the North East of England.
Teams within this department manage areas such as payroll, bookkeeping, VAT, and accounting services, with some specialising in sectors such as agriculture, estates, technology, property, and legal services. Dedicated trainers also support the induction of new team members and the ongoing development of trainees as they work towards professional qualifications.

Key Duties:
- Review year end accounts prepared by junior team members for sole traders, partnerships and some limited companies
- Manage a portfolio including monitor time spent and ensure that accounts are prepared within budget
- Review monthly and quarterly VAT returns
You will have:
- Accounting Qualification either AAT, ACA or ACCA
- An interest in working with clients in the agricultural sector
- Experience working with MS Excel and Word and if possible, CCH accounts production and Xero
- Experience guiding junior team members
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential, while remaining flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work within a team
