Commercial Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our in-house legal team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role, where you will make an immediate impact, reporting directly to the Head of Legal.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Company Secretarial Support:

  • Support and develop committees, including drafting terms of reference and governance documents

  • Assist the Board and Senior Leadership Team with resolutions, minutes, and action logs

  • Ensure compliance with company law and internal governance documents

  • Maintain statutory and other registers to ensure effective governance

Legal Team Collaboration:

  • Review, update, and control standard terms and conditions of contracts

  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments within the energy sector, including responses to industry consultations

  • Draft and review contracts (commercial terms, non-disclosure agreements, consultancy agreements, etc.)

  • Advise on internal policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance

  • Provide legal advice on supplier contracts, data protection, customer complaints, and general commercial matters

  • Monitor and mitigate legal risks

  • Assist in resolving disputes

What You’ll Bring

We’re ideally seeking candidates with 3 to 5 years’ PQE, but we welcome applications from individuals at any level who possess relevant experience and enthusiasm for the role. Experience in an in-house or commercial setting is desirable, but not essential. We are happy to consider those transitioning from private practice.

  • Flexibility and proactivity in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships

  • Ambitious, detail-oriented, and keen to develop professionally

  • Willingness to mentor and support junior members of the legal team
