Position: Design Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Role Overview:

The company is seeking to recruit a full-time Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of renewable energy solutions, particularly focusing on electrical design for commercial rooftop solar and battery storage systems. The successful candidate will work within the design team and be responsible for developing and executing designs for both domestic and commercial solar PV and battery storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Solar PV and Battery Storage projects from feasibility through to deployment.
• Utilize industry-specific software to produce detailed designs and layouts.
• Prepare full quotations and proposals for projects.
• Produce project-specific technical specifications, drawings, and design documentation.
• Continuously seek out new business opportunities and foster client relationships.
• Contribute to the preparation of tenders, ensuring that all design elements are accurately captured.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong background in commercial electrical design.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of domestic and commercial solar PV systems.
• Experience in surveying, design, and preparing quotations.
• Proficiency in design software (preferably AutoCAD and PVSOL).
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Background and knowledge of commercial electrical design.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems for both domestic and commercial applications.
• Experience in surveying, design, and preparing quotations.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in AutoCAD and PVSOL (or similar design software).
