About the role
We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a construction company in the North East, specialising in social housing refurbishments.
This is a full-time role with a salary of up to £65,000, plus benefits.
Within this role, you will provide commercial expertise and oversee the financial delivery of refurbishment projects. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, working across all stages from design costs to final accounts.

Responsibilities
Manage cost control, progress monitoring, and reporting for refurbishment projects
Oversee valuations, final accounts, and retention releases, ensuring timely payments
Identify cost-effective material buying opportunities
Lead subcontractor procurement and ensure value for money
Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
Requirements
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Experience in construction and cost management, particularly in social housing refurbishments
Strong financial and numerical management skills
Knowledge of HSE regulations and legal guidelines for social housing
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management software
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
