The role:
We are seeking an experienced tax professional within our client’s personal tax service line, with a particular focus on the agricultural sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and guiding a team.
The Personal Tax team work with over 2000 clients, including individuals, partnerships and LLPs and trusts. Their services include traditional compliance work as well as advisory projects across all taxes. They work closely with our colleagues in Business Tax and other service lines where appropriate. With a focus on getting to know their clients and anticipating their needs so they are known for an exemplary level of service.

Key Duties:
Taking full responsibility for an interesting and diverse portfolio of tax returns, including HNWs, director/shareholders, partnerships and sole traders.
Supervision and training responsibility for an assistant; reviewing their work and supporting them in their development
Supporting clients on an “as-needed” basis with technical and procedural queries, HMRC tax enquiries and disclosures
Involvement in tax advisory projects, including capital tax planning, pension planning and profit extraction.
Dealing with new client enquiries, quoting and on-boarding.
Taking an active role in the management of the firm’s overall personal tax compliance service, identifying efficiencies and assisting in the introduction of new processes and technologies
Developing and maintaining trusted long-term relationships with clients, colleagues and professional contacts.
You will have:
ATT or CTA qualified
At least 2 years’ experience in a personal tax compliance role at manager level
An interest in, and experience of, working with clients in the agricultural sector
Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to deadlines
An interest in developing and coaching junior staff and secondees
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational skills, with ability to self-manage
Willingness to research technical issues and ability to problem solve
