The role:
They have an opportunity to join their finance department as a Payments Assistant at their Newcastle office. In this role you will be responsible for accurate, timely and complete reporting which fully supports performance analysis of business plans and capital management plans.
Your key duties will include:
Ensuring payments are made correctly, in a timely manner, in line with internal approval guidelines/ authority limits.
Providing support to the wider payment team.
Covering over payment roles as necessary.
Dealing with general queries.
General Administration.
Nominal ledger accounting packages (Sage X3, Sun Systems)
Online banking interface, including Nordea NetBank.
Attending and participating in team and finance meetings.
Assist with any ad hoc administrative or financial tasks that are allocated at the discretion of management that are within both your capabilities and the scope of the post.
What you need:
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and electronic filing systems.
Efficient and effective administration skills, demonstrating attention to detail concerning work produced.
Excellent numerical skills.
Strong communication skills.
Desire to gain knowledge and experience.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Preferred skills/ Qualifications/ Experience
Working towards AAT.
Knowledge of the shipping industry.
