About the role
We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a construction company in the Yorkshire Area.
This is a full-time role with a competitive salary.
Within this Quantity Surveyor role, you will be responsible for the overall commercial management of multiple construction schemes. You will work independently and/or guide a small team, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining contractual compliance.

Responsibilities
Provide commercial support to site and project managers
Monitor and update project costs, reviewing monthly financial forecasts against actual costs
Manage subcontractor procurement from inception to completion
Conduct valuations, certifications, and approvals of subcontractor payments
Guide operational teams on cost estimation processes and contract requirements
Report directly to clients and managers, presenting valuation reports and cost estimates
Tender and negotiate contracts, estimating target costs and preparing contract documents
Effectively manage colleagues and contribute to training and developing junior surveyors
Requirements
HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (desirable)
Minimum of five years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor with knowledge of construction processes
Experience working with various contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC)
Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions for sub-contracts and main contracts
Proficient in MS Office
Valid UK driving licence
Valid CSCS card
Skills
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent negotiation and leadership abilities
Ability to analyse reports and prevent budget deviations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
