About the role
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join a construction company based in Gateshead.
This is a full-time role with a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 DOE, plus a company car or car allowance and performance-based bonuses.
Within this Business Development Manager role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. You will play a key role in expanding market presence and ensuring long-term success in a competitive industry.

Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction sector
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry professionals
Develop strategic plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities
Lead negotiations, proposals, and contract discussions with potential clients
Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers and estimators, to ensure client needs are met
Represent the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and trade shows
Provide regular reports on business development activities and progress
Requirements
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the construction sector
Strong industry knowledge and a well-established network of contacts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently
