Senior Account Manager - NHS Fleet Solutions
Business Unit: Commercial Department
Location: Manufacturing and Innovation Hub, Seaton Delaval (NE25), home-based in South of England
Salary: £57,349 + up to 20% bonus annually + car allowance
Role Overview
The NHS Fleet team generates non-core income for patient care through its car and home electronics schemes. The team consists of 60 staff members. The Senior Account Manager, reporting to the Head of Account Management, will manage and grow a portfolio of public sector/not-for-profit clients in the South of England and Wales.
Key Responsibilities
Develop strategies to manage and grow non-core revenue services
Identify and research new business opportunities
Create tailored proposals, tenders, and contracts
Maximise account performance and cross-sell services
Explain salary sacrifice tax and HR legislation to clients
Collaborate with New Business colleagues on bids and tenders
Maintain and grow client relationships
Monitor competitor activities and client satisfaction
Keep accurate CRM records and ensure high customer service levels
Regularly update internal stakeholders on account performance
Resolve client queries and escalate when necessary
Additional Responsibilities
Promote commercial services positively to internal and external customers
Work with stakeholders to promote Northumbria Healthcare Group’s brand values
Stay updated on other commercial services to share best practices
Develop a network of contacts to identify business leads
Research, collect, and analyse relevant business information
Deputise for the Head of Account Management or Group Sales Director as needed
Candidate Profile
Degree or strong sales/account management background
Proven success in gaining new business and achieving sales targets
Experience with CRM systems
Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience in bid-writing for public sector contracts is desirable
Experience with salary sacrifice or staff benefit schemes is desirable
Excellent customer relations and communication skills
Proven ability to influence client decision-makers
Track record of working to KPIs and targets
Self-motivated with attention to detail
Ability to travel frequently in the UK
